Defending American Companies and Innovators From Overseas Extortion and Unfair Fines and PenaltiesA memorandum providing that it is the policy of the Trump administration to impose tariffs and take other responsive actions to address digital service taxes (DSTs), regulations, practices and other policies of foreign governments that are discriminatory or burdensome against US companies, including those that could require a US company to jeopardize its intellectual property (IP). The memorandum itself does not impose any tariffs but directs seven agency actions to review and report remedial actions to address the various practices.
