Established in 1995, our Paris office provides a comprehensive range of legal services, with a reputation for delivering pragmatic French and transnational advice. Our clients include many household names and public companies listed in France, the UK, Germany or the US, as well as some of France’s largest state-owned concerns.

Our dedicated lawyers service a wide range of industry sectors, with particular experience and strength across chemicals, marketing services, life sciences, aerospace and defense, energy, automotive and diversified industrials.

Why Choose Us

We are a global firm with a local focus. Integrated into this ethos are our French avocats à la cour, and of our French lawyers, approximately one-third are dual-qualified in France and other jurisdictions (including several English lawyers) or French-qualified foreign nationals.

Our client base spans all sectors and we draw on our global network to provide seamless counsel no matter what the jurisdiction.

Many of our lawyers are recognized throughout their various practice areas as leaders in their fields of expertise by well-respected legal publications. These include Legal 500 Europe, Middle East and Africa and Chambers Europe – most recently in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, tax, labor law, antitrust and competition and dispute resolution. Previous awards include the Décideurs best rising team in small to mid-cap LBO.

Antitrust and Competition

We have significant experience in the laws relating to anti-competitive practices (contentious and non-contentious) and in respect of cartels. Our expertise also extends to related issues such as the coordination of consultations with economists and lobbying. We are at ease with the typically multi-jurisdictional dimension of cartel matters. Our lawyers have significant experience advising industrial and private equity clients on merger control matters under French and EU law.

Corporate

We offer successful representation of a broad client base of corporate and institutional investors across the full range of national and international transactions including M&A, joint ventures, private equity and corporate reorganizations.

Through a dedicated team, we also provide general company law advice for the full range of business vehicles – from the GIE, association, or mutual company to the fully listed société anonyme

International Dispute Resolution

When a dispute arises, we provide rapid and effective solutions through the courts, arbitration, settlement or alternative dispute resolution. We can guide you through complex issues in all types of commercial or corporate disputes, whether at home or abroad. Our team is at the forefront of alternative dispute resolution techniques and has experience in national and international arbitration. We regularly partner with the ICC Mediation Centre and the Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris.

Our litigation practice covers a wide range of fields, including commercial, contract and tort disputes, product liability, insolvency, international infrastructure and construction disputes, employment litigation, banking and corporate disputes and white-collar crime. We undertake advocacy before French courts in Paris and the provinces.

Labor and Employment

Our team deals with all aspects of labor and social security law, with a proven track record of dealing with employment issues from a French perspective in a complex international environment.

Our lawyers can advise you on all aspects of the employment relationship, from the offer letter to severance and beyond. We assist with the management of collective labor relations, and regularly advise on all aspects of employee representation, the conclusion or amendment of collective agreement, the implementation of reorganization, employee incentivization and benefits.

Real Estate

We work for property and construction clients and corporate users of real estate in matters ranging from contract drafting and negotiation, public procurement, real estate acquisitions and disposals, facilities management and commercial leasehold, to dispute resolution, expert proceedings and, if necessary, litigation and arbitration. We are supported by our tax team in respect of real estate-specific tax issues, and our privileged connections with notaries and environmental consultants also enables us to provide insights in these fields of expertise.

Regulatory

Our expert team can assist you in enhancing, protecting and exploiting the value at the heart of your businesses. We can help to create a legal and contractual framework that will enable your organization to prosper in France, across Europe and elsewhere.

Our solutions are pragmatic and original and build upon our technical expertise in contract, commercial, data protection and privacy, intellectual property, consumer and competition law – whether French or pan-European. We can advise on the full spectrum of commercial contracts, including those relating to core business and outsourcing.

Restructuring and Insolvency

We advise on all aspects of restructurings and insolvencies in both a purely domestic and cross-border context.

Our team advises on the rights and obligations of distressed corporates and their creditors and commercial counterparties. We can prepare you for and represent you at, during and after related proceedings. This work regularly involves preparing statements of debt, advising on the enforcement of security, managing claims processes and coordinating with creditors’ committees.

Tax Strategy and Benefits

Often involved in a wide variety of issues, our tax team can work with you to help structure business and financial transactions, as well as self-generating work from French and non-French corporations and groups.

We provide general tax assistance to corporations, advising on corporate income tax, business tax, value-added tax (VAT), registration duties, tax planning and general tax issues with France’s authorities and before the courts. We also advise on France-based and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and have significant experience with taxation specific to high net worth individuals.
