Squire Patton Boggs has launched resource tools for managing data governance under the brand Privacy Powered by Squire Patton Boggs*, which were developed by the firm’s global Data Privacy, Cybersecurity & Digital Assets Practice. The first two resources offered are templates and related tools for conducting US data inventory and impact assessments and a set of tables comparing key topics in the US state consumer privacy laws.

Squire Patton Boggs has teamed with Ankura, a leading privacy consulting firm, to integrate its toolkit templates and approach into the OneTrust platform to better serve the evolving needs of clients and customers. In addition, Exterro, Inc., a leading privacy and security solutions provider, is including the products for license as part of its suite of data governance and discovery products and services.

Alan Friel, chair of the firm’s global Data Privacy, Cybersecurity & Digital Assets Practice, said, “Our focus is to help companies identify, track, and mitigate impacts and risk of US data practices – even if they do not obtain legal services from us. Assessments must be maintained and available for regulatory inspection. Our innovative offerings and best practices guidance can help clients and non-legal services customers make better informed decisions about their data privacy and governance needs. With support from Ankura and Exterro, we’re excited that these tools are more readily accessible to a wider range of users and can be integrated into software platforms that bring increased efficiency and effectiveness.”
