May 2024
Region: Europe
READ FULL INSIGHT

We know that employment law and people issues are increasingly a strategic priority for boards, as they grapple with fast-moving legislative and regulatory changes – many of which have wider consequences from an ESG and/or Sustainability perspective.

Our Quarterly Board Briefing includes a tracker which aims to provide boards with a guide to key upcoming legal changes, including critical dates, suggested actions and an assessment of any risk/opportunities arising.

In the Spotlight section at the end of the document, we include additional notes for legal and HR teams on significant hot topics. In this Quarter’s edition, we turn the focus of our Spotlight to the EU Pay Transparency Directive. Although the UK is no longer a member of the EU and so will not be required to implement the Directive, it will still be relevant to many readers, who have operations in continental Europe. Moreover, greater transparency in pay practices and procedures in EU member states is also likely to raise the profile of this issue in the UK, and potentially trigger demands from UK staff for similar information.
