Dr. Knut Woestehoff's practice focuses on defending German and other international manufacturers in products liability claims and commercial litigation matters. Knut has more than 10 years of experience in litigating cases across the US in a broad variety of industries, including automotive, technology and energy. As a native German, Knut is licensed to practice in the US (California) and Germany.
Knut’s litigation practice strongly focuses on the automotive industry. He has represented several large automobile manufacturers in jurisdictions throughout the US and Europe. Knut currently serves as national coordinating litigation counsel for one of the premier German auto manufacturers and a Japanese manufacturer of trucks. In that role, he coordinates litigation and prelitigation claims across the US with local counsel as well as in-house and external experts.
Knut also counsels clients on product safety issues and assists with managing risks and preventing product liability. In this role, he advises foreign companies in setting up business operations in the US.
Knut also advises US and international clients in a wide range of corporate and commercial law matters. His corporate practice focuses on clients in the renewable energy sector, intellectual property and IT industries. Prior to relocating to the US, Knut practiced law in Germany, representing clients in the energy sector.
