Watch our March employment law webinar to find out what should be on your to-do list and what changes you may need to make to your employment documentation, including your practices and procedures.
We cover key developments, including:
The Employment Rights Bill – The bill proposes wide-ranging changes to employment law, from “day one” unfair dismissal rights to greater rights and protections for trade unions. The government has recently announced various amendments to the bill and is expected to launch a number of consultation exercises during 2025 on key proposals contained in the bill. Find out more on the latest developments and why we recommend that employers engage loudly and comprehensively with any such exercises.
Neonatal care leave and pay – A new statutory right for employees to take paid leave from work if their children are admitted to neonatal care will be coming into force from 6 April. We will provide an overview of the new right, including what employers should be doing to prepare.
New failure to prevent fraud offence – The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 created a new corporate offence of failure to take reasonable steps to prevent fraud. This will come into force on 1 September this year across the UK. We highlight what this new offence means for employers and the steps they should be taking to comply with the new requirements.
AI – While the development of AI tools for businesses continues at pace, issues around possible algorithmic bias and discrimination present companies with a minefield of legal and ethical considerations in relation to their HR policies and practices. How comfortable is your organisation on where it is and where it is heading in relation to the use of AI and your employees? We will provide an update on the latest developments in this fast-moving area.
