Dr. Jens Rinze is a partner in the Frankfurt office and heads the Financial Services Practice Group in Germany. His practice focuses on capital markets, structured finance, banking, insurance and other finance industry related transactions, in particular securitization, asset based lending, real estate finance, project finance, receivables finance and asset finance, as well as other forms of structured finance and capital markets instruments, including the regulatory aspects thereof, and the restructuring and work-out of such transactions.

His clients include financial institutions, insurers, rating agencies, servicers, special servicers, borrowers and investors.

He is a regular speaker at structured finance and securitization conferences and at universities. He has written several articles in German and foreign law journals, text books, scientific magazines and commentaries on the German Banking Act and in the fields of banking and finance, conflict of laws and European law.

He is a member of the “Deutscher Anwaltverein” (DAV), Working Group Banking and Capital Markets and active in various industry-related associations.

  • Advising the arranger in respect of a €150 million trade receivables securitization relating to trade receivables governed by German, English, French and Spanish law of originators situated in Germany, France, Spain and Switzerland.
  • Advising the arranger in respect of a €75 million lease receivables securitization and bridge financing relating to lease receivables governed by German and Swiss law of originators situated in Germany and Switzerland.
  • Advising a German insurance company as lender in respect of the €24 million refinancing of an office property in East Germany.

  • Advising the investor on the restructuring of a structured bond issued by a German factoring company, secured over Italian law-governed life insurance premium payment receivables, originated by a Luxembourg insurance company.
  • Advising the mezzanine lenders for the €50 million financing of the acquisition of a portfolio of commercial retail markets in Germany.
  • Advising an international investment bank in respect of the sale of a more than €82 million German real estate secured loan.
  • Advising a property fund in respect of the work-out of a distressed financing and the subsequent sale of a mixed-use property in Berlin.
  • Advising a rating agency in respect of the rating of the €680 million DECO Bonn CMBS.
  • Advising the arrangers in respect of the US$1 billion public sector Pfandbrief issuance pursuant to Rule 144A of the US Securities Act by a German Landesbank.
  • Advising a US insurer in respect of a portfolio transfer of its insurance business from its German branch to its UK subsidiary.
