Andreas Lehmann’s practice focuses on financial services and corporate finance transactions as well as restructuring and insolvency. He advises banks on all aspects of debt financing structures including syndicated loans, corporate bonds and securitization transactions. Andreas has advised institutional investors, in particular investment funds, venture capital funds and real estate funds, in respect to their investments in Germany.
Andreas’ finance experience includes financial restructurings and non-performing loan (NPL) transactions and other distressed debt investments as well as the refinancing of real estate acquisitions. His experience also includes factoring, receivables finance and asset-based lending structures. Andreas has advised corporate clients in obtaining financing, particularly in structured finance transactions.
Andreas also regularly advises debtors, insolvency administrators as well as creditors and potential investors in insolvency proceedings, in particular in a cross-border context.
Andreas is a member of, among others, TMA Germany (Turnaround Management Association) and the International Bar Association (Banking Law and Insolvency sections).
He has published several articles on aspects of international securitization structures and real estate securitizations.

- Advising lenders and borrowers on syndicated loans and corporate bonds, including restructurings.
- Advising a foreign issuer on obtaining financing by issuing a German Schuldscheindarlehen.
- Advising on German security packages for multijurisdictional finance transactions.
- Advising UK-based banks and investors on the acquisition of performing and non-performing loans from Germany-based banks.
- Advising lenders on secondary market sales.
- Advising investors on acquisitions in Germany (distressed loans, NPL and real estate).
- Advising the purchaser of a Germany-based real estate portfolio on the refinancing of the acquisition.
- Representing the indenture trustee of bonds issued by Callahan Nordrhein-Westfalen GmbH in insolvency proceedings of the issuer.
- Advising a bondholder committee on the restructuring of the bond and a debt-for-equity swap and other bondholder committees on attempted restructurings.
- Advising mid-sized and large Germany-based corporations and groups, as well as banks, on multiple national and pan-European trade receivables securitization transactions.
- Advising an insolvent corporation on the wind-down of its trade receivables securitization program during its insolvency proceedings.
- Advising banks on receivables finance structures for their customers.
- Advising asset -based lenders on their German operations, including exit scenarios.
- Advising a Bulgarian investor on the acquisition of a German business group out of insolvency.
- Advising foreign shareholders in connection with the possible insolvency of their German subsidiaries.
- Advising creditors in the (preliminary) insolvency proceedings of their debtors.
- Advising a foreign investment fund in the restructuring of his distressed German investments, including realization of security.
- Advising debtors, insolvency administrators as well as creditors and potential investors in insolvency proceedings.
