Patricia Doersch is a partner in the firm’s Transportation, Infrastructure & Local Government Public Policy Practice. She assists transportation-sector manufacturers and public agencies in achieving their goals before the federal government, with a focus on assisting automotive industry clients in addressing federal regulatory and safety compliance matters. Patricia also helps infrastructure project sponsors navigate the myriad regulatory requirements of federal infrastructure grant and loan programs, including Buy America standards. Additionally, Patricia helps clients mitigate their safety compliance risks in acquisitions and related transactions.
Patricia has guided clients through lengthy and complex government safety investigations and recalls, and she served in two monitorships overseeing, on behalf of the federal government, comprehensive compliance improvements by manufacturers. She has extensive experience advising automotive clients on the vehicle and equipment standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Patricia also advises clients across the public transportation industry in securing federal grant funding and shaping transportation policy to advance their priorities.
Patricia brings a wealth of experience shaping transportation policy and legislation within the federal government. She served as majority counsel for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Highways and Transit Subcommittee, as an attorney with the Federal Highway Administration and legislative counsel for the American Public Transportation Association.
Patricia serves on the board of the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority and chairs its finance committee.
