Mark J. Ruehlmann
Chairman/Global CEO
Mark J. Ruehlmann focuses his practice on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on cases in the financial services sector, along with disputes involving business interruption, product liability, intellectual property and trade secrets.
He represents a variety of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to individual entrepreneurs, in federal and state trial and appellate courts. Mark has served as the managing partner of the firm’s Cincinnati office for 10 years.
Mark is listed in Chambers USA for his litigation practice. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America each year since 2007 and is the 2020 Cincinnati Lawyer of the Year for Bet-the-Company Litigation. He has regularly been named an Ohio Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters. He also is listed as a local litigation star in Benchmark: Litigation.
Mark took over as Chairman of the firm on January 1, 2015.
- Leading the firm's representation of Christ Hospital during its successful separation from the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.
- Leading the firm's litigation representation of the Enron Creditors’ Committee.
- Defending numerous class action matters pending in federal courts in Kentucky, Indiana, Arkansas, Illinois, Ohio and Florida on behalf of a US-based financial services company.
- Advising a global manufacturer in a multimillion-dollar dispute involving one of its equipment suppliers.
- Counseling a publicly traded global manufacturer in a multimillion-dollar products liability dispute.
- Representing the former shareholders of a wholly owned subsidiary of a publicly traded company in multimillion-dollar litigation stemming from a merger transaction.
- Pursuing successful injunctive litigation in Indiana trial, appellate and supreme courts on behalf of a publicly traded employer.
