James Lewis is an associate in the Construction & Engineering team.

James advises clients in relation to construction and engineering disputes and all aspects of project management.

He has experience of dealing with all major forms of construction and engineering contracts, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC, and regularly advises clients on all forms of dispute resolution, including arbitration, litigation, adjudication and mediation in connection with construction and engineering projects located in the UK and internationally.

James has previously worked at a top-tier international law firm and has been described by colleagues as “one who can turn work around quickly and efficiently, to achieve the desired aims for the client”.

  • Advising in relation to a multibillion-dollar arbitration concerning a major infrastructure project in the Middle East.*
  • Advising a specialist cladding and façade contractor across a number of major logistics projects in the UK in both High Court litigation and adjudication.*
  • Providing project management and dispute support to a number of build-to-rent developers in connection with projects situated across the UK.*
  • Advising a number of clients in the hospitality and student accommodation sectors in connection with claims brought on behalf of insolvent contractors in the UK.*
  • Advising multiple clients at all levels of the supply chain in connection with bringing and defending final account, extension of time and variation account claims.*
  • Advised a landlord of one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings in a multimillion-pound dispute with one of its leaseholders in the High Court. The dispute concerned defective works at the property.*
