Lenka Landro focuses her practice on general corporate, M&A, real estate, construction, litigation and employment matters.

Her experience in real estate matters includes representing national and international clients in the acquisition, disposal and lease of real estate across the Slovak Republic, and providing legal services in all aspects of real estate ownership. Lenka has experience in assisting clients with permitting issues, as well as negotiating contracts related to real estate development.

Lenka has advised and represented clients in a number of real estate litigation.

Lenka also advises Slovak and foreign employers on all areas of employment law including employee transfers, mass dismissal and collective bargaining with trade unions.

Prior to joining the firm, Lenka worked for the global network of professional firms providing Audit, Tax and Advisory services.

She also gained experience during her internship at the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic. Previously, Lenka worked as a legal assistant for one of the leading law firms in the Slovak Republic.

  • Advising a global industrial leader in engineered bearings and power transmission products on the acquisition of a European technology leader and manufacturer of highly engineered cycloidal reduction gears and actuators, including the real estate due diligence and acquisition of two production facilities, including one newly developed state-of-the-art plant in the Slovak Republic.
  • Advising the US Embassy in Slovakia in the acquisition of prime location lands and buildings owned by several entities, both from private and public sectors, for construction of the new US Embassy compound, including niche expertise on the specifics of public international law and diplomacy. The process of land acquisition is governed by multiple legal regulations depending on the status of the particular selling public institution. The acquisition includes a detailed historical legal due diligence of title.
  • Representing the US Embassy in Slovakia in a publicly known matter of ex-post legalisation of a fence that is part of the Embassy’s security perimeter in the prime square in Bratislava, the capital city of the Slovak Republic.
  • Representing one of the world’s largest retailers in a complex real property title litigation relating to property under existing buildings and adjacent land. The representation involves a historical claim of legal title to land originally seized by historical owners by the Slovak state.
  • Represented a Slovak municipality in a proceeding before the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic on special appeal relating to determination of ownership rights to land plots that are of significant importance to the municipality.
  • Advising a Greek food manufacturing company operating in multiple countries around the world in connection with the property acquisition and construction of a new manufacturing plant to employ more than 600 people. This included advising the client, as the purchaser, in property due diligence, the purchase of land for the construction of the plant, construction permitting, and energy, archaeological and other related matters. This transaction demonstrates how combined expertise (the ability to link transaction advisory expertise with excellent real estate knowledge) brings significant advantage to the client and helps effectively manage the transaction while maintaining the high dynamics of the process. The total realisation costs are estimated at €63 million. Advice included subsequent support in the due diligence process as part of the acquisition of the client’s Slovak production facility by one of the world’s largest snack companies.
  • Advising a commercial real estate developer with regards to the process of land consolidations from the perspective of reallotment of the area of interest with an objective of its further development, including identification of potential risks connected therewith.
  • Assisting an international insurance company in connection with property insurance in the sale of warehouse and industrial parks in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic in the total value of more than €100 million. We provided the client with legal support regarding corporate matters related to the individual transferred parks.
  • Advising one of the largest residential developers operating in our territory with regard to the permitting process of a building within a new residential project in Western Slovakia.
  • Advising a local subsidiary of the Finnish residential developer, in the property acquisition of lands and buildings for its future residential project in Bratislava, including legal due diligence.
  • Advising the client, as the purchaser, in the M&A transaction for the purchase of SPVs owning hostels for workers and adjacent land plots, including real property due diligence, including the contract relationships setting, historical easements, lands developed with third party owned structures, administrative proceedings relating to historical permits and unsettled ownership to roads.
  • Advising the foreign embassy in pre-litigation strategy and available legal options in a sub-lease relationship in relation to unacceptable condition of the premises and subsequent work and, potentially, preparation of litigation filings and appearing at Slovak courts.
  • Representing a global leader in building materials and solutions with regard to issues related to the termination of lease agreement and subsequent negotiation of new office premises future lease and lease agreements for the client’s back-office operations.
  • Advising a top energy distributing company operating in the territory of west Slovakia on opening a new model of brand shops, focusing on risk analysis of the temporary secondment of staff from a labour law point of view.
  • Advising a US multinational and a global manufacturer of welding products and its subsidiaries on the reorganisation of the company’s production, reduction of production premises in some jurisdictions and related various corporate and labour matters, including advising on organisational changes, mass dismissal and negation of collective bargaining with trade unions.
  • Advising a national television station in the Slovak Republic on various labour and employment, as well as corporate, issues. Assisting with employment relationships in specific cases, including coordinating the process of terminating the employment of top management in the company, preparing alternative strategies with a detailed final strategy and related due diligence of business and labour law documentation and preparing a new sabbatical policy for implementation by the employer.
  • Advising a global pharmaceutical group to cover various areas of expertise such as providing assistance in international transactions, including transfers of employee rights at the national and international levels, which occur very often (even several times a year) given the nature of pharmaceutical business and involve transfers of individual products or therapeutic lines between competitors.
