Chris Hastings is a partner in our Financial Services Practice.

He has experience in complex domestic and international buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and refinancing.

Chris works with private equity houses, corporate borrowers, banks and private credit funds on a broad range of domestic and cross-border banking, as well as finance transactions. He provides commercial advice and solutions regarding leveraged buyouts, financing in support of M&A activity, refinancing (ordinary course or event-driven) and distressed or opportunistic debt investments.

Chris works with a wide range of mid-market private equity clients concerning their investment activity and supporting their portfolio companies throughout their investment. He also works closely with private equity, corporate, tax and funds colleagues regarding financing aspects of domestic and international M&A transactions.

Chris's experience advising corporate borrowers ranges from first-time capital raises for privately owned businesses to billion-pound refinancings and reorganisations for repeat clients.

  • Acting for Inflexion regarding its minority investment in the GOAT Agency and subsequent sale to WPP.
  • Acting for Inflexion on financing its investments in Medik8 and Detector testers.
  • Representing Livingbridge in relation to its buyout of Veramed.
  • Advising Pollen Street Capital on the acquisition of Assessio, a leading talent assessment software platform in the Nordics.
  • Acting for Perwyn regarding its acquisition of a majority stake in Jersey Telecom's Internet of Things (IoT) division.
  • Advising Aurelius in relation to financing its investment in TM Group.
  • Acting for the Daisy Group regarding the sale of a minority stake in its DWS division to Inflexion, valued at £1 billion.
  • Acting for the litigation funding business Augusta Ventures, regarding its £116 million refinancing and numerous subsequent bespoke financing matters.
  • Acting for Tresmares Capital in relation to its financing of Sovereign Capital-backed Skerrits, a UK-based wealth management business.
  • Advising Eurazeo regarding the successful refinancing of SR Group, a leading international specialist recruitment company.
