Ryan Callender’s experience includes serving as bond, disclosure and underwriter’s counsel in a variety of conventional and capital market public debt financings. Ryan is experienced in general obligation debt, revenue bond debt, tax increment financing and certificates of participation.
Ryan has over 25 years of experience acting as bond, disclosure and underwriter’s counsel with a variety of local governments, including municipalities, school districts, state agencies and special districts. One of Ryan’s primary areas of focus is the structuring of water and sewer revenue debt financing. Ryan has served as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel and disclosure counsel for a variety of water and/or sewer entities throughout the country.
In addition, Ryan has experience serving as bond, disclosure and underwriter’s counsel for various state revolving funds including serving as bond counsel to the Ohio Water Development Authority for more than US$4 billion of bond, floating rate note and commercial paper issues. Ryan is also an active member of and frequent speaker for the Council of Infrastructure Financing Authorities (CIFA).
Ryan currently chairs the firm’s Municipal Disclosure and Securities Law Committee, and the firm’s Water & Wastewater group.
Ryan is an active member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) and has served as Chair of NABL’s Essentials Workshop in 2023, and currently serves as Vice Chair of NABL’s Disclosure and Securities Law Committee.
Ryan is currently on the Board of Trustees of Great Lake Theater and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland Water Alliance.
