Kevin Burge is a director in our Pensions practice based in our Birmingham office.  He has a broad range of experience in pensions law. He has more than 20 years' experience with UK occupational pension schemes, public sector schemes and private pension plans. He is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and has also acted as an independent trustee.

  • Advising trustees in relation to benefit change proposals and incentive exercises.
  • Advising trustees in relation to buy-in and buy-out exercises.
  • Advising trustees in relation to issues such as equalisation, identification of statutory employers and exercise of discretionary powers.
  • Advising the trustees of a UK university plan in relation to closure to accrual, investment issues and scheme funding.
  • Advising in relation to investment agreements including vehicles such as limited partnerships, investment companies, unit trusts and asset-backed contribution structures.
  • Providing training on issues such as data protection, accessing benefits following budget changes and investments.
  • Advising a charity on its participation in the Staffordshire County Council Pension Fund.
  • Extensive experience of advising trustees and employers of private pension schemes on day-to-day management and administration.
