The Squire Patton Boggs Foundation is proud to announce its 2024 Fellows, welcoming 28 students from 19 US law schools into the program.

Since its launch in 2005, the Fellowship Program has awarded annual summer fellowships to 384 exceptional law students who demonstrate a steadfast commitment to public service.

The Fellows commit their summers to advancing law and public policy issues through internships at non-profit institutions, government agencies, and domestic or international organizations. This year, the locations of Fellowships range from San Diego to Denver, Atlanta, and New York, with a significant number in Ohio and Washington, D.C., among other locations.

Foundation President John Oberdorfer welcomed the 2024 Fellows, applauding their dedication and the superb range of their Fellowships: Several Public Policy Fellows are serving with US government departments, including State Attorney Generals’ Offices, Public Defenders Offices, and several others are working on issues pertaining to juveniles and children. Additionally, the Foundation has selected a Human Rights Watch Fellow, a Joe Brand Human Rights First Fellow, a Pulitzer Fellow, three Sustained Impact Racial Justice Fellows, as well as a Sustained Impact Veterans’ Justice Fellow.

“We are proud to welcome our 20th Fellowship Class,” said Oberdorfer. “This class marks a generation of Fellows going back to 2005, whose public service has benefited so many people. The Class of 2024 will add to the more than 100,000 hours of public policy and legal work their predecessors have performed. The Foundation is pleased to enable these outstanding law students with a passion for public service to, in the words of John Lewis, ‘answer the highest calling of their hearts.’”

Foundation Chairman and former U.S. Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater added, “The Foundation continues to provide opportunities for students through the Fellowship Program to engage in imperative public interest work during their law school summers. The students’ unwavering commitment to public service not only benefits their professional endeavors, but also substantially impacts their respective organizations and communities at the local, national, and global levels.”
