Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce the addition of principal Steven E. Conigliaro to the firm’s global Financial Services Practice. He joins from Santander Bank, N.A., where he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Digital Transformation.
Mr. Conigliaro also served in leadership roles in the corporate legal departments of MUFG Union Bank, N.A., where he was a Managing Director, Head of Consumer Banking Legal, and a member of the bank’s Executive Management Team, and at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., where he was an Executive Director and the Head of Private Label Relationships and Strategic Transactions for Auto Finance Legal. Previously, Steve was in private practice at O’Melveny & Myers LLP for over a decade where he focused on representing clients in the payment card industry.
“Steve’s background at leading global banks and in private practice gives him rare insight into the impact of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters on many of our clients,” said James Barresi, global leader of the Financial Services Practice. “He is a skilled practitioner with extensive experience advising clients before prudential banking regulators and enforcement agencies on deposit, lending, and payment matters. Steve’s experience will help us continue to provide the practical and actionable advice that differentiates Squire Patton Boggs from our competitors. We are excited Steve has joined our global team.”
Mr. Conigliaro added, “When considering my move back into private practice I was interested in joining a firm with a diverse, global financial services practice where I can leverage my consumer and bank regulatory experience to advise clients on critical business decisions and opportunities. Squire Patton Boggs was a great match, and I am thrilled to join the firm.”
