Law360 has named Squire Patton Boggs partner Alethia N. Nancoo among its 2023 Project Finance MVPs. The MVP series recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.
Ms. Nancoo is a partner in the Public & Infrastructure Finance Practice Group and a member of the firm's Global Board. She was recognised as an MVP for her work in cutting edge, major public-private partnership deals. These include guiding the bond and commercial financing for the building of the $4.2 billion John F. Kennedy International Airport’s new Terminal 6, and helping close a precedent-setting deal for the development of a $2.1 billion sports stadium to replace Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, advising the transaction’s managing underwriter Goldman Sachs on a deal that included a public subsidy package with $705.1 million of bonds.
Ms. Nancoo’s practice focuses on public, private and project debt finance, with particular emphasis on capital markets, infrastructure construction, airport, toll road and surface transportation, mixed-use multifamily housing, water and sewer utility sectors. She has served in key roles in connection with public and private placement financings for 25+ major and international airports in the US and Caribbean.
She has recently been appointed to the University of Maryland Alumni Association Board of Governors, one of numerous boards and associations she has been involved in, which also include those targeting low-income communities. Ms. Nancoo was recognized by the Washington Business Journal among its 2020 Minority Business Leaders, and DEI Champion in Corporate Counsel Magazine’s 2021 Women, Influence & Power in Law Award.
