Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce the addition of Principal Adam F. Hensel-Briscoe to its Government Investigations & White Collar Practice in Washington, DC
He joins the firm from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and previously served more than 12 years at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and most recently, as the assistant director of the Office of Global Targeting’s Narcotics, Crime, Africa and Western Hemisphere Division. Mr. Hensel-Briscoe also served for more than four years as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the Chief Counsel, Foreign Assets Control, the legal office that supports OFAC.

Mr. Hensel-Briscoe supports clients on international trade, economic and trade sanctions laws, export control laws and other foreign policy and national security trade and investment controls. He assists U.S. and international clients in navigating international trade laws and policy, including economic sanctions authorities administered by OFAC; and trade sanctions authorities administered by the U.S. Department of State, Office of Economic Sanctions Policy and Implementation.
Mr. Hensel-Briscoe joins a team which includes former senior-ranking litigation and trial lawyers who honed their skills inside US Attorneys’ offices and the US Departments of Justice (DOJ), Homeland Security, and Treasury, among other U.S. agencies.

Mr. Hensel-Briscoe earned his JD from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and his BA from Georgetown University.
