Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs and New Voices Foundation have partnered to launch a legal clinic providing pro bono counsel to start-up companies owned by women of color.

New Voices Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization designed to create a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem for women of color-led startups, will pair members from its New Voices Family community of entrepreneurs with Squire Patton Boggs attorneys who will provide pro bono legal support on issues including business formation, corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, data privacy, employment, and supply chain advice.

This clinic looks to assist New Voices Family businesses that are currently low-revenue and high-potential, facilitating the growth of these promising businesses and expanding opportunities for wealth creation and enterprise in this traditionally underserved community.

“We could not be more delighted to partner with New Voices on this important program and to assist talented businesswomen who want nothing more than to realize their full potential,” said Squire Patton Boggs Partner and firm-wide Pro Bono Director Corrine Irish. “This effort furthers our long-standing tradition of pro bono advocacy on behalf of underrepresented communities that is central to our firm’s culture.”

“This Squire Patton Boggs partnership and legal clinic will allow New Voices Foundation to continue to meet its commitment to providing access to critical business services that women of color entrepreneurs need to help grow and scale their companies,” said Richelyna Hall, New Voices Foundation’s Chief Impact Officer.

Driven by its PACE (Purpose. Access. Capital. Expertise.) model, New Voices Foundation offers women of color entrepreneurs access to capital, leadership development, skill-building, and networking opportunities via grants, pitch competitions, entrepreneurial summits, accelerators and bootcamps, online learning programs, mentoring and coaching, communications outreach, and other programming.
