Squire Patton Boggs has advised Saica Group, one of the largest European players in the development and production of recycled paper for corrugated board, in connection with its establishment of its first North American facility. Selected for its accessibility to the Midwest and readiness for construction, the state-of-the-art factory will be located near Cincinnati, Ohio, in the City of Hamilton’s Enterprise Park.
Based in Spain with more than 10,000 employees across Europe, Saica Group is a world leader in manufacturing high-quality, efficient and environmentally responsible packaging materials.
When considering its entry into the US, Saica Group focused on the Midwest due to its workforce, infrastructure and supply chain, and proximity to potential clients. Construction of the 350,000 square foot facility is expected to start in September and will take eighteen months to complete. Once finished, Saica Group expects to invest nearly US$72 million and create 64 new jobs at the facility.
The Squire Patton Boggs team was led by Daniel Berick, Americas Chair of the Global Corporate Practice, partner Laura Nemeth, senior attorney Matt Sagone, and counsel Jeff Bomberger.
