Squire Patton Boggs has been recognised as Rising Star Firm of the Year at the seventh annual Legalcommunity Energy Awards in Italy, a week after announcing that it will be opening a Milan office.
The awards ceremony, which celebrates excellence in the Italian legal market and among operators in the energy sector, is organized by Legalcommunity.it and was held at the Superstudiopiù in Milan on 30 January. The event was attended by 700 lawyers and representatives of energy companies, banks and financial institutions involved in the energy sector and related advisors.
Squire Patton Boggs Milan office managing partner Galileo Pozzoli and Energy & Natural Resources partner Daniela Sabelli accepted the award for the firm.
In awarding the firm with the Rising Star accolade, the awards jury stated that the firm “launches in Italy under the guidance of Galileo Pozzoli, with a team formed by partners Ian Tully, Daniela Sabelli and Fabrizio Vismara. The experience of professionals on the corporate front, with a focus on energy, immediately positions Squire Patton Boggs as one of the most interesting specialist realities in the sector.”
The Legalcommunity Energy Awards jury is composed of business and in-house legal representatives from a range of Italian and international participants in the energy sector, including Canadian Solar, BNP Paribas, ING, Natexis, Green Arrow Capital, A2A, Eni, Italgas, Total, Snam, EON and Engie.
Squire Patton Boggs, one of the world’s largest law firms, announced on 23 January that it is opening an office in Milan with a multidisciplinary team, with a particular focus in energy law and representing African countries in major international arbitrations.
