Squire Patton Boggs has received two separate awards from Euromoney and the Ohio Women’s Bar Association (OWBA) for its commitment to fostering a firm culture that promotes full and equal participation, advancement and retention of women and working mothers.
The sixth annual Euromoney Americas Women in Business Law Awards 2017 recognized individuals, teams and firms for setting a new standard in progressive work practices and leading the way in their field. Squire Patton Boggs was awarded “Best National Firm for Work-Life Balance (North America)”.
At the OWBA / OWFA (Ohio Women’s Bar Foundation) Annual Meeting in Columbus, Ohio, Squire Patton Boggs received the Family Friendly Award, which was presented as recognition of the firm’s dedication to work-life balance and dedication to ensuring all lawyers are able to raise a family while pursuing a rewarding career. The OWBA promotes leadership, advancement and interests of woman attorneys through professional education and networking. According to OWBA, as the 2017 recipient of the Family Friendly Award, Squire Patton Boggs “has proven their outstanding desire to promote the value of success in the family while succeeding in the career.” Karen Winters, partner and leader of the firm’s Environmental, Safety and Health Practice, accepted the award on behalf of the firm and expressed gratitude for receiving recognition from the OWBA.
Additionally, at the Euromoney awards, Squire Patton Boggs partner and Americas Chair of the global Real Estate Practice Deborah C. Ryan was named “Best in Real Estate”. Ms. Ryan has devoted her practice to all aspects of commercial real estate investments, development and financing. She has represented both landlords and tenants in leases ranging from long-term ground leases to office leases as well as both sellers and purchasers in the acquisition of real estate and partnership interests. This is the latest in a series of industry accolades Ms. Ryan has received, including “Most Prominent Women in Business – 2017” by North America News Magazine, “Women of Influence” by Real Estate Forum (2016) and “Outstanding Women in Business Awards” by the Dallas Business Journal (2015). The firm was also named “Best Firm in US South” at the Awards event.
