Squire Patton Boggs has reinforced its German Employment practice with the appointment of Lutz Hoheisel as a Partner in Frankfurt.
Mr. Hoheisel has been part of the Employment Group at Orrick since 2010, having previously been at Bird & Bird LLP and Hengeler Mueller. Lutz is a member of the German-British Jurists' Association (DBJV), German Lawyers' Association (DAV) and its Working Group of Employment Lawyers. He is independently recommended in German legal directory Juve.
Lutz has particular expertise in advising on the employment law implications of cross-border M&A and corporate restructuring, a key feature of the firm’s EMEA-wide Labor & Employment practice. He advises clients across a wide range of sectors including IT, pharmaceuticals, professional services, finance, insurance and consumer goods. He also regularly advises on pensions law as well as employer relations with Work Councils.
Kai Mertens, Office Managing Partner of the firm’s German offices, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lutz to our Employment team in Germany. Lutz is a well-respected employment practitioner and will fit well within our prominent employment practice.”
Caroline Noblet, Global Co-Chair of Labor & Employment, said: “Germany continues to be an important market for our clients – both as a gateway to Eastern Europe and Asia-Pacific and a material market in continental Europe. By appointing Lutz, we continue to strengthen our excellent employment credentials in Germany. In a country where we continue to grow client base, Lutz’ appointment is especially timely and welcome.”
“I’m thrilled by the opportunity to contribute to the Labor & Employment practice at Squire Patton Boggs,” said Lutz Hoheisel. “Working on an impressive global platform within Germany will be helpful to my clients as they grapple with difficult cross-border employment issues. I look forward to contributing to the many pan-EMEA and truly international employment law events and client insight initiatives that the firm undertakes.”
Lutz is joined by associate Joanna Kowalska in Berlin.
