Acting pursuant to the authority granted by Proposition 202, which was passed by Arizona voters in 2006, the Industrial Commission of Arizona issued a resolution in October 2013 raising the minimum wage to $7.90 per hour, effective January 1, 2014. The $0.10 increase over the previous minimum wage of $7.80/hour is based on a 1.5% increase in the Consumer Price Index between August 2012 and August 2013. Arizona employers and multistate employers with employees in Arizona should make appropriate arrangements to ensure compliance with the new minimum wage as of January 1, 2014.
