At Squire Patton Boggs we are committed and passionate about driving forwards diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) progress within our own firm and within the communities where we practice. We champion open dialogue, collaboration and we focus on our commitment to ensuring equal opportunities to all.
We have taken a comprehensive approach to DEI, to ensure that all of our people throughout the firm feel welcomed and have equitable opportunities to belong, succeed, thrive and fully and fairly pursue their career objectives. Our Global Office of DEI focus on strengthening our inclusive working environment by raising awareness through action, championing allyship and providing guidance and training to drive meaningful change. The team sit in different offices and cover multi-jurisdictions, ensuring that each initiative is globally and locally relevant.
We look at the entire employee life cycle through a DEI lens and centre our DEI goals around four strategic pillars: Career, Culture, Community and Clients. This ensures that our recruiting, hiring, development and promotion practices all reflect our shared DEI focus. As part of our action plan, we have introduced a number of measures focused on improving our approach to the recruitment, retention and advancement of employees and strongly believe that working with our clients to create DEI programmes helps strengthen our ability and outreach as a whole, meaning we can have maximum impact on our people, industries, local communities and the wider global society.
We value the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion within our workforce and always aim to provide diverse, gender-balanced representation across the board. We continually work on creating an inclusive culture, driving positive change and empowering our colleagues to call out and help eradicate inequality and discrimination in all its guises. When working on any projects, we purposely strive to select diverse teams, as we know that diversity in people and thought strengthens our performance.
The firm has established resource groups to provide opportunities for networking, mentoring, support and professional development for lawyers and staff with similar backgrounds, lifestyles, experiences or interests.
Members, allies and supporters who join these groups play a vital role in our continued commitment to an inclusive and diverse working environment where all individuals are valued, included and empowered to succeed.
