Kathryn Wilson is an associate in our Labour & Employment team, based in our Manchester office.

Kathryn primarily advises employers and senior individuals in a variety of sectors, on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.

Kathryn prides herself on delivering pragmatic and commercial client-focused advice and has particular experience advising clients in relation to conduct, capability, redundancy, grievance and long-term sickness matters. She also works closely with our Corporate team, providing corporate support.

In 2021, Kathryn was appointed as charities director of the Manchester Young Solicitors Group.

  • Regularly advising clients on a variety of day-to-day HR and employment law issues, including conduct, capability, grievance, redundancy and long-term sickness matters.
  • Advising and assisting businesses in their defence of complex and high-value multifaceted employment tribunal claims for discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal.
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of employment documentation, including contracts of employment, service agreements, consultancy agreements, secondment agreements and staff handbooks.
  • Providing operational and strategic employment law advice in respect of business restructures and reorganisations.
  • Providing corporate support, including advice on due diligence, pre- and post-completion dismissals, TUPE and employment provisions in transactional documents.
  • Advising and supporting employees in relation to settlement and exit negotiations.
  • Providing tailored advice in relation to restrictive covenants and the misuse of confidential information.
  • Delivering bespoke training sessions for clients on a variety of topics, including investigations training, managing long-term sickness absence and conducting disciplinaries.
