Peter Sellar has extensive experience advising clients on EU environmental, social and governance law, including on general chemicals, biocides and pesticides, ecodesign, electronic and electrical equipment, cosmetics, medical devices and medical products law, as well as on the circular economy and sustainability law (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, EU Deforestation Regulation, etc.).
Peter provides a top-to-bottom service, from assisting with advocacy campaigns on EU legislation to advising on compliance with EU law, as well as taking legal challenges against EU laws before the European Courts and tribunals, including seminal Classification and Labelling Regulation and REACH Regulation cases. Peter also had a prominent role in various Brexit litigation cases while at the Scots bar and has given testimony to the Scottish Parliament on EU-related matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Peter earned law degrees from the College of Europe in Bruges and the Universities of Aberdeen, Regensburg and Edinburgh.
