Kopzhan Musrepov has more than 20 years of experience providing advice under Kazakh law on all aspects of government procurement, corporate issues and dispute resolution.

He has participated in several high-profile cases, including Caratube v. Kazakhstan and disputes concerning the Kashagan and Karachaganak oil megaprojects.

Kopzhan is a member of the Kazakhstan Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London. He is also registered as a legal adviser in the Astana International Financial Centre.

  • Represented state and state-owned entities in ICSID and UNCITRAL arbitrations across a variety of sectors, including energy, oil and gas, construction and other industries.
  • Consulted for both private and state-owned entities on civil law, investments, labour law and other corporate issues. 
  • Provided legal advisory services to major clients in the oil and gas and mining industries, as well as participating in negotiations and legal support of their major transactions.
  • Provided legal support in the registration of international companies in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and within the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
