Christine Palser is a senior associate in the Real Estate Practice based in the London office.

Christine advises on all aspects of real estate transactions, with a particular emphasis on advising institutional and other investors on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property and portfolio management, including acting for a key developer client in relation to a large regeneration project. As part of the firm’s real estate finance team, Christine also advises clearing banks, financial institutions and alternative lenders on the real estate aspects of both investment and development financings.

Christine has carried out two nine-month secondments at major clearing banks – one to the corporate real estate business support unit dealing with non-core impaired and distressed sub-performing loans, and one to the corporate real estate team supporting both the global-corporates and mid-markets teams. Christine has been a committee member of the Commercial Real Estate Legal Association (CRELA) since 2015.

  • Acting for an institutional investor in the simplification of its group structure and the subsequent sale of its £120 million prominent city centre shopping centre subject to occupational leases of shops, restaurants, bars, a cinema and a hotel.
  • Acting for a local council in connection with the disposal and development of city centre land for a mixed-use scheme, including retail outlets, a hotel, a leisure complex and residential accommodation.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team to assist in the restructuring and refinancing of the £170 million redevelopment of part of a large Grade-I listed London station, comprising residential apartments and a five-star hotel.
  • Advising a major UK property investor/developer in relation to a regeneration project, including the proposed development of a theatre, school, hotel and residential apartment block, as well as responsibility for office and retail lettings.
  • Acting for a hotel operator in relation to the development of a new city centre hotel with approximately 200 bedrooms.
  • Acting for a number of corporate occupier clients on high-value transactions, including acting for a private equity house taking five leases of separate floors of its UK head office in Mayfair, and acting for a marketing agency on the lease of its new warehouse-conversion UK head office in East London.
  • Acting for a private real estate investment fund in relation to the joint venture acquisition of a large prime Bristol listed building for redevelopment into assisted senior living.
  • Acting for a number of major UK clearing banks, international banks, non-traditional lenders and borrowers, leading on real estate aspects of both investment and development financings.
