Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs has hired Jonathan Brohard into its Real Estate Practice. He is rejoining the firm as a partner, having most recently served as Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel of Lat33 Capital, a specialty real estate finance company.
“Jonathan is a seasoned business leader and lawyer with a career spanning senior in house roles and private practice handling a diverse range of real estate transactions and sector specific business issues.” said global Real Estate Practice Chair John Thomas. “His extensive experience gives him a unique lens through which to solve problems and help our clients grow their business. Mr. Brohard spent the last decade at Lat33 Capital, where he oversaw all real estate lending and transactions, securities compliance and reporting, human resources, preferred equity reporting and litigation management for the company. During his time with the company, he successfully closed the acquisition, financing and disposition of various real estate holdings across asset classes including hospitality, multifamily, solar development, water resources, industrial warehouse and office properties in across the United States. As a senior leader in the company, he oversaw all board meetings and shareholder meetings, closed multiple rounds of investments in the company from various institutional sources of equity and represented the company before government bodies. He also oversaw the company’s most significant transaction, which took the previous public-reporting entity private and up-streamed a multimillion dollar asset to its corporate parent.
He previously served as General Counsel Atherton-Newport Investments, a multifamily residential real estate investment company, equity shareholder at a national law firm and was of counsel at Squire Patton Boggs in the early 2000s.
