Matthew Rogers focuses his practice on the defense of products liability matters, with special expertise in the automotive industry. Matthew has successfully defended a wide variety of claims against automobile manufacturers both pre-trial and in the courtroom. As a keen negotiator, he is often able to settle matters for clients before heading to trial; he also has extensive trial experience in state and federal courts.

  • Successfully defended a major automobile manufacturer against claims of defective vehicle braking system, involving in a serious accident. Defense verdict averted a possible US$6 million damage payment. 
  • Defended a major automobile company in a case where the driver’s death had been attributed to a steering malfunction, which was the subject of a later recall. Jury found for defendant and allowed for recovery of substantial defense costs. 
  • Multiple trials, successfully defending major automobile companies against claims of defective air bag and other critical component designs.
