World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR) has named partner Candice Kwok in its 2022 listing of Influential Women in IP, featuring the best and brightest women in the IP field.
With nearly 20 years of experience in IP, Ms. Kwok focuses her practice on general intellectual property counseling, local trademark registrations in the US and Singapore, international trademark portfolio management, enforcement counselling and contentious trademark proceedings. She represents clients in all industries including fintech, food and beverage, healthcare and fashion. In Singapore, Ms. Kwok provides a full range of trademark portfolio assistance and has acted in multiple opposition and invalidation proceedings, including instituting and managing proceedings for a European luxury streetwear brand taking action against an Asian copycat company. In the US, Ms. Kwok provides local and international trademark clearance, trademark filing and enforcement, including assisting clients on contested matters such as trademark oppositions and UDRP proceedings for domain name disputes.
A Singapore native fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and proficient in French and Japanese, Ms. Kwok is a graduate of the National University of Singapore. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2000, and has been licensed to practice in California since 2010. She has served as the chair of a Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association (INTA), and is presently a member of INTA’s Non-Traditional Trademarks committee.
