Corporate partner and European head of Private Equity Paul Mann has been recognized in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 2022. The list, which published today, celebrates standout individuals in the UK over the past year, recognizing a diverse list of legal professionals seen to be doing the most important work in the country.
Mr. Mann is noted for his efforts to grow the firm’s Private Equity team. The Lawyer observed: “Squire Patton Boggs has been pushing hard to grow its private equity (PE) team in the UK and it is a strategy that is well and truly paying off. The group, led by Leeds-based Paul Mann, had an incredibly active 2021 with a pipeline of transactions already expected for the new year.
“Fuelled by UK growth, Mann’s role has evolved over the last four years. In a bid to boost the firm’s PE credentials on the Continent, Mann has been scouting for talent and the results so far have been impressive. In November, Squires secured the hire of a seven-strong team from DLA Piper in Madrid, with more hires planned. Mann’s PE growth drive continues.”
Tony Reed, EMEA Chair of the Global Corporate Practice, said: “We are very proud of Paul’s recognition in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 2022. Paul joined Squire Patton Boggs as a trainee and has led by example ever since his first day with us. Nothing is too much trouble for Paul and he places the highest value on both the clients and colleagues who have contributed to his meteoric rise.”
A prolific dealmaker, Mr. Mann was ranked 1st by Mergermarket for deals within the Business Services sector during 2021. He was awarded Dealmaker of the Year at the Yorkshire Business Insider Awards in 2020.
